As temperatures increase, the popularity of lace-less and flat-soled shoes is also increasing among both males and females. While students have a wider selection of styles and colors, concerns over the long-term effects of this trend remain.

There are several different varieties of lace-less and flat-soled shoes that are increasing in popularity: flip-flops, clogs, crocs, ballet flats, high heels, platforms and sandals. The most popular lace-up has been the tennis shoe.

Within the last year, Butler University has seen the addition of a full-time priest, a Muslim student group and the increased involvement of the Jewish community and several smaller Christian groups. What will the university come up with next?

Butler is not religiously affiliated, but in recent years the campus has become diversified in a way that allows Catholics, Jews, Muslims and many forms of Christianity to find a niche in the faith community.

The village of Broad Ripple in Indianapolis caters to a variety of tastes in the many pizza places it offers. Brian White, manager at Marco’s Pizza in Broad Ripple, said Butler students are their best customers.

The dirt can run, but it cannot hide when you take your car to Mike’s Express Carwash. According to their Web site, Mike’s was only the 18th carwash in the United States when they first opened their door in Fort Wayne, Ind.

Marketing manager Sally Dahm, said that the company started in 1948 when family members, Joe and Ed Dahm were intrigued by the ‘carwash concept’ so they opened three locations in Fort Wayne.

The Butler Senior Class Council, Make A Scene (MAS) Entertainment Group -- a group of Butler Alumni and students that coordinate events -- and Landsharks in Broad Ripple are making this happen with the Second Annual Senior Recognition Event, commemorating Butler athletes and their respective accomplishments.

The men of Delta Tau Delta spent the week of March 31-April 5 having fun, making friends, and, oh yeah, saving lives. TRIKE week was once again upon the Butler campus and through the hard work of the men more than $18,000 was raised for Riley Hospital for Children.

TRIKE is a week-long fundraiser put on by the members of Delt to raise money for Riley that consists of fundraising and a competition among the sororities on campus.
