Indian Garden perfect for Indian cuisine

If you are craving authentic Indian food on a limitless budget, India Garden is a perfect choice. India Garden serves up traditional Indian cuisine that can be altered to your own tastes. Each dish is made based upon your own preference level of spices.
India Garden is also known for cooking its meats tandoori style. This consists of marinating the meat and cooking it in a clay tandoor oven. With chicken marinated in ginger, onions, tomatoes and spices and seared in the tandoor oven, Chicken Krahi is a fitting choice for an Indian food newcomer.
The meal starts out with a complimentary Indian-style flatbread with two different sauces for dipping. To kick off the Indian eatery adventure, try the Paneer Pakora appetizer. It slightly resembles American mozzarella sticks, with five pieces of homemade cheese dipped in chic pea batter and fried to a golden brown.
Deciding on a main course may take a little time. The menu is jam-packed with variety and many different options from chicken and seafood selections to lamb and vegetarian choices. Adding bread to your meal is also an option. The Paneer Naan is a great choice for a cheesy bread lover.
Finish off the experience with an authentic Indian dessert. You may want to try the Kulfi or traditional Indian ice cream made from milk and nuts. It has a rich hazelnut taste with the texture of sherbet.
The food is very authentic and made for a complete Indian cuisine experience but be careful not to break the bank as you are getting your fill. The restaurant banks on authenticity with $12 entrees. The portion sizes of the entrees are way too small for the price.
The atmosphere is seemingly elegant and classy with chandeliers and fancy table settings, but the ambiance wears off all too quickly. The restaurant leans on the bland side with minimal artwork or wall hangings and a claustrophobic feel. It is a great place for peaceful conversation though with only soft Indian music playing in the background.
The service is very quick and polite with a “Thank you” every time they place an item on the table. If you don’t like asking for drink refills though, you may go home thirsty.
India Garden is a great opportunity to try something new and experience a different culture’s food, but be sure to have enough in your pocket to cover the high prices. India Garden has two locations, one on Broad Ripple Avenue and the other in downtown Indianapolis on North Delaware Street.
