Maire wonders how the end of the writer's strike will affect public interest in the elections.

Now that the writers are no longer on strike and all our favorite shows are going to be back on television for our viewing enjoyment, I feel like the 2008 Presidential election is going to fall to the back burner. Alicia gives her take on the dining services at Butler...

Lately, my friends and I have had less-than-pleasant experiences with the food, specifically the food offered in Atherton. For the second year in row the spotlight on BracketBuster weekend shinned on Hinkle Fieldhouse and the game ended in a disappointment for Butler Bulldog fans. Just like last year, the Bulldogs are still in a great position to have an impact in the NCAA Tournament despite the BracketBuster loss.

So I just want to start off this week’s installment by saying, no boasting, that I knew during the whole episode that Kate’s son was Aaron.

Not that that’s a stunning guess to have made -- after all they did show Claire and Aaron in every other scene in the show.

But this seemingly trivial piece of information does give us some answers. First off, Claire is probably dead, chilling in heaven with Charlie. Second, it’s safe to say that Jack finally learns the truth about his familial relationship with Claire (they share the same father for those of you who were unaware). If she does die and Jack does know that she’s his half sis, then it is understandable for him to not want to hang out with Kate and baby Aaron.

So one of my cohorts thinks that it is Claire’s funeral that Jack attends in the flash forward. Wrong! I know I entertained this same idea a few weeks ago, but after some more thought I’d have to say that it is not Claire in the casket.

First off, why would nobody, not even Kate and Aaron, attend her funeral? Second, Jack would have told the funeral director that she was either friend or family.

This all leads to one of my biggest predictions ever -- Claire dies on the island.

Why do I make such an audacious statement? Well it all boils down to paperwork and logistics. If Claire makes it off the island with Aaron then dies in civilized society, Kate would have to adopt Aaron.

Nobody would let an uber-felon adopt a child, duh! But, if Claire dies on the island, Kate can tell the authorities that she birthed the little fat baby on the island, and they would have no reason to think otherwise. They have been on the island for awhile. She could say she got pregnant before the crash. Boo yeah!

So how does Claire die? I’ll keep watching and as soon as I find out you’ll all be the first to know.
